This year, July 4th falls mid-week on a Wednesday. It cannot be easily attached to one weekend, or the other. No difference.
Anyone interested in going to Tahoe during the Independence Day is asked to "vote" regarding how exactly how many days people want to spend on the road. We are offering this trip as a Special Event, because Lake Tahoe claims to have the biggest fireworks - west of the mississippi. Fireworks displays would be on "a grander scale" than many other places throughout the west.
AA Ticket includes driver, transportation expenses in our Road Trippin' van(s) and lots of gas. Overnight campgrounds with showers also included with AA Ticket. Ice included for keeping food cold at the campsite. Additionally, "taxi" service is provided between campground and (optional) motels, within reasonable distance from the main campground.
People will have a choice.
Get into the middle of the action.
Either view fireworks from one of the most popular beaches on Lake Tahoe (where all the crowds go), or take a separate "boat tour" at your own cost, to get the best view of fireworks.
OTHER THINGS TO DO
Until everybody "votes" for number of days, we are not sure how long the Lake Tahoe trip will be yet. On extra days, people might consider optional "jet ski" rentals, parasailing or boat cruises on the lake.
These are considered personal expenses, not included with AA Ticket. AA gets you there and back, for camping. What you do for fun around the lake, is your own personal choice.

Cost for this road trip is a little more than most trips, because the standard cost for vans and campgrounds, including parking fees are slightly higher during one of the biggest holiday weekends of the year.
Vendors charge us more for everything on this major holiday because everybody does something on July 4th. Thus, our own operating costs are slightly more.
